Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Successfully manage the use of generic medications and combination therapy in glaucoma care.
- Improve communication with glaucoma patients on compliance issues.
- Respond strategically to disease progression.
- Use topical therapy to effectively lower IOP.
- Monitor the patient effectively to improve neuroprotection.
Target Audience:
Ophthalmologists who provide comprehensive care and specialized care for patients who have glaucoma or who are at risk for developing glaucoma.
Course Description:
This CME activity provides focused and research-based information that learners can incorporate into their practices to manage complex therapeutic regimens and disease. The activity will also provide instruction on how to encourage patients to comply with recommended therapy to treat glaucoma. The activity is known to align with the targeted learners' current or potential scope of practice, because the goals of the activity are supported by evidence-based Preferred Practice Patterns that have been developed by the American Academy of Ophthalmology for primary open-angle glaucoma and suspected primary open-angle glaucoma. This educational activity will combine didactic and case-based discussions to enhance learners' interaction with the expert faculty. |
